Disassembling Crankshaft

  • Risk of damage to units or components 

    → Protect components from dirt and contamination.

    → Clean or replace dirty components.

Crankshaft components

Crankshaft
  Dowel pin for flywheel - replace if damaged. 
Dowel pin for vibration damper - replace if damaged. 
Crankshaft sealing ring on belt side
Crankshaft sealing ring on flywheel side
Connecting rod
Connecting rod bush
Connecting rod bolt - replace 
Connecting-rod bearing
10  Main bearing - smooth bearing
11  Main bearing - partial-groove bearing
12  Supporting mount
  1. Fit > P209a - retainer plate  on crankshaft flange (flywheel side) using two flywheel bolts.
    IMPORTANT: Fine thread. 

    Clamp the crankshaft -1-  in a vice using > P209a - retainer plate-2-  .

  2. Unscrew connecting rod bolts from connecting rod cylinders 1-3.

    Remove connecting-rod bearing cap, connecting rod and bearing shells and place on a surface arranged according to cylinders.

    Replace connecting rod bolts.

  3. Clean the crankshaft and connecting rods.
