Removing Belt TENSIONER

CAUTION:
Pointed or sharp objects
- Risk of cracks, pricks or cuts
→ Wear personal protective gear.
- Unscrew screw at the bottom -arrow-
of the tensioner.
Remove screw from the underside of the engine!
Belt tensioner with screws
Recommended tools for removing and installing the top screw:
- > V.A.G 1331A - Torque wrench, 6-50 Nm/4.5-37 ftlb .
- Internal Torx bit T50 with width across flats 13 mm from > VAS 6928 - Socket wrench set, 39-piece
- Socket-wrench insert T50 from > VAS 6947 - Ring Socket Insert, a/f 13
- Unscrew screw at the top -arrow-
of the tensioner.

- Remove belt tensioner.
