Installing Oil Pan
- Risk of damage to units or components
→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.
→ Clean or replace dirty components.
- Insert small seals and moulded seal in the oil pan.
- Grease new seals and moulded seal with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
- Place upper part of oil pan in installation position.
Check that the moulded seal and small seals are fitted correctly.
Fit and tighten screws uniformly.
Tighten screws -1 to 22- in the specified tightening sequence. Re-tighten screws -1 to 4- .
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
Tightening sequence for upper part of oil pan
1-22 Tightening sequence for screws on upper part of oil pan - Secure bulkhead box to the oil pump.
Fit and tighten screws.
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
- Grease O-rings on the oil pressure control valve with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
- Insert connector housing for oil pressure control valve into the oil pan and secure cable at the bulkhead box.
Secure connector housing with a spring clamp.
Connect and lock cable plug.
- Install coolant guide and coolant pipe (directional-control valve).
Coat moulded seals and new O-rings with Kluber Gel.
Position coolant guide and secure with screws.
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
Fit coolant pipe on the coolant pump and tighten screw on the holder.
Screw on holder:
> Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
- Grease new O-rings on the oil lines with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
- Fit oil lines.
Connect oil line -1- and fit screws on oil pan, bank 1-3 -2- and holder -3- .
Oil line for turbocharger oil tank, bank 1-3 to oil pan
Connect oil line with new O-rings and fit screws on oil pan, bank 4-6 -4- and holder -3- .
Oil line for turbocharger oil tank to oil pan, bank 4-6
Tighten screws.
> Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
- Install lower part of oil pan.
