Installing Oil Pump
- Risk of damage to units or components
→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.
→ Clean or replace dirty components.
Information
- Fit the new oil pump with new seals on the crankcase.
- Replace fastening screw for oil pump sprocket.
- Wipe off any traces of oil on the sealing faces with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Install oil pump.
Fit screws.
- Position the driver on the oil pump so that the bores that are furthest away are parallel to the sealing face when fitting the sprocket.
Push oil pump gear and timing chain onto the driver.
- Attach special tool > 9791 - retaining device-1-
as a test.

- Tighten screws for oil pump uniformly.
Screws, M6 x 30: > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
Screw, M6 x 80: > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
- Install sprocket for oil pump -1-
.
Check position of oil pump gear. The bores that are furthest away must be parallel to the sealing face -Line X- .

1 Oil pump sprocket 2 Timing chain 3 Internal Torx screw, M8 x 22 - replace! X Bores that are furthest away positioned parallel to the sealing face > 9791 - Retaining device must be positioned on the oil pump gear and sealing face.
Fit new screw -2- using socket-wrench insert (T45) and tighten in three steps.
> Initial tightening 5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.)
> Initial tightening 17 Nm (13 ftlb.)
Final tightening: > Torque angle 90°

1 Tool 2 Sprocket screw - Remove retaining device.
