Adjusting Rear-Axle Toe

Information 

• Due to limited accessibility, the screw head at the eccentric screw for the toe cannot be turned.
• It can be adjusted at the lock nut side by attaching another larger hexagon with an eccentric washer (a/f 26 mm) to it. The toe is adjusted on this in the usual way.
• When tightening the lock nut to the specified torque, always counter at the large hexagon.
• Use a commercially available straight double-ring wrench (a/f 26 mm) (e.g. from Hazet) for adjusting the toe.

1. Turn the toe eccentric adjuster -1-  as required after loosening the lock nut -2-  .

   Rear-axle toe eccentric adjuster

   1. 1.1  Then tighten the lock nut -2-.

      > Tightening torque 100 Nm  (73.8 ftlb.) 

   Vehicles with rear-axle steering: The ignition must be switched on for checking and adjusting. 

2. Same procedure as for vehicles without rear-axle steering (after loosening the lock nut -2-  , turn the toe eccentric adjuster as required).

   1	Eccentric washer
   2	Lock nut
   3	Eccentric screw

   1. 2.1  Then tighten the lock nut -2-.

      > Tightening torque 100 Nm (74 ftlb.)
