Mounting for rear spring strut on wheel bearing housing

1. 2.1  Screw-in screws -2-  until it is in contact (do not tighten!).

Mounting for trailing arm

1. 3.1  Screw-in screws securing trailing arm to wheel bearing housing -2-  until it is in contact (do not tighten!).

Mounting for rear spring strut on body (shown on the Coupe as an example)

1. 4.1  Tighten nuts -2-  . > Tightening torque 30 Nm (22.1 ftlb.) 
2. 4.2  Connect and lock electric plug connection -1-  .

Rear retaining frame support

1. 5.1  Fit and tighten screws -2 and 3-  .

   > Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ftlb.)

Outer rear support

1. 6.1  Tighten -1-  screws. > Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ftlb.) 
   WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly 

   • Risk of crushing 
   • Risk of damage to components 

     → Wear personal protective gear.

     → Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

   Information 

   Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.

1. 7.1  Raise the wheel bearing housing using a jack (e.g. > VAS 6931 - transmission and gearbox jack)  until the lower trailing arm is horizontal. > Zero position

2. 7.2  Tighten screws -2-  securing rear spring strut -1-  to wheel bearing housing. > Tightening torque 110 Nm (81.1 ftlb.)

3. 7.3  Tighten screws -2-  securing trailing arm -1-  to wheel bearing housing. > Initial tightening 70 Nm (51.6 ftlb.)  > Final tightening + 180°
