Removing Radiator

WARNING: Hot fluid 
  • Danger of scalding 

    → Let the fluid cool down.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

NOTE: Cooling circuit not filled correctly 
  • Risk of damage to vehicle components 

    → After relieving the system pressure, do not start the engine or high-voltage system.

    → Fill and bleed the cooling system correctly before starting the engine or high-voltage system.

  1. Place a suitable container under the radiator to collect escaping coolant.
  2. Disconnect condenser -1-  from the radiator.

    Unscrew screw -2-  .

    Release retaining lugs at the top and bottom -3-  .

    Release retaining lugs -4-  at the condenser -1-  and remove condenser -1-  from the radiator.

    Hang condenser -1-  at a suitable position using a tie-wrap.

  3. Disconnect supply hose -1-  and return hose -2-  .

    Loosen safety clips -3-  .

    Pull off supply hose -1-  and return hose -2-  .

    Close off connections using suitable stoppers.

  4. For vehicles with middle radiator:  Disconnect hose for middle radiator -1-  .

    Loosen safety clip -2-  .

    Pull off hose for middle radiator -1-  .

    Close off connections using suitable stoppers.

  5. Left radiator:  Turn the catch -2-  90° anti-clockwise and pull vent line off the radiator -1-  .

  6. Right radiator:  Press locking lugs -1-  together and pull off vent line -2-  .

  7. Remove radiator -1-  .

    Unscrew screws -2-  and remove lower holders -3-  .

    Guide the radiator -1-  out of the upper holders -4-  in -direction of arrow-  .
