Installing Centre Coolant Pipe

Information 

The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.

1. Install center -1-  coolant pipe.

   Position the center -1-  coolant pipe.

   Press the center coolant pipe -1-  onto the front coolant pipe -2-  and rear coolant pipe -3-  and lock the retaining clips -4-  .

2. Centre coolant pipe, left only: 

   Secure -2-  vent line on center coolant pipe, -1-  left.

   Insert -2-  vent line -3-  into clips.

3. Install -1-  coolant pipe holder.

   Position holder for coolant pipes -1-  .

   Clip in vent line -3-  and center -2-  coolant pipes.

   Close and lock the -1-  coolant pipe holder.

4. Install strut for holder -1-  for front coolant pipes.

   Position front strut of the coolant pipe holder and -1-  clip in the -3-  clips.

   Fit and tighten screws -2-  .

   > Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)

5. Install -1-  tunnel reinforcement.

   Position tunnel reinforcement -1-  and press on -3-  coolant pipe holder.

   Fit and tighten screws -2-  .

   > Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ftlb.)

6. Only for all-wheel drive vehicles: 

   Install mounting plate for rear -1-  cardan shaft mounting.

   Position mounting plate for rear -1-  cardan shaft mounting.

   Fit and tighten new  screws -2-  .

   > Initial tightening 40 Nm (30 ftlb.) 

   > Torque angle 45° 

   Insert screw -4-  , fit and tighten nut -3-  and counter at the screw -4-  at the same time.

   > Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 ftlb.) +/- 4 Nm (3 ftlb.)
