Draining Coolant (Engine)

WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Open cap -1-
on the reservoir and remove it.
Coolant cap
- To collect the coolant, secure a pan on a transmission jack and place it under the drain positions.
- Unscrew drain plug -1-
on the coolant regulator housing.

- Unscrew drain plug -2-
on the coolant guide tube.

- After draining the coolant, fit drain plugs with new sealing rings and tighten them.
Drain plug on coolant regulator housing: > Tightening torque 25 Nm (19 ftlb.) +/- 2 Nm (1.5 ftlb.) .
