Preliminary Work
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Danger of poisoning, burns and hearing damage
→ Ensure reliable exhaust gas extraction.
→ Wear personal protective gear and ear protectors.
→ Stay a safe distance away from hot components.
- Refilling coolant.
- Turbo/Turbo S only:
Align the vehicle on the lifting platform. Raise the vehicle until the distance (height) -Dimension 1- between the front spoiler lip and workshop floor is 500 mm .

Position > VAS 231 001 - high-performance fan-1- centrally in front of the vehicle.
- 2.2.1 Position fan housing at an angle to the base. When doing so, the rear edge of the fan housing must be 150 mm in front of the base -Dimension 3- .
- 2.2.2 Set up fan with the rear edge of the fan housing 390 mm away from the front spoiler lip in direction of travel -Dimension 2- .

NOTE: Overheating due to accumulated exhaust gas- Damage to paintwork on rear apron
- Deformed plastic components in the rear area
→ Position exhaust extraction system some distance behind the vehicle and switch it on.
→ If it is not possible to position the extraction system some distance away from the vehicle, carry out the process outdoors.
- Get the exhaust extraction system ready.
Position extraction funnel -1- .
Ensure a distance of 300 mm -x- to the tailpipes.
Make sure that all exhaust gas is extracted. Adjust the height of the extraction funnel -1- if necessary.
