Bleeding The Cooling System

Information
- The bleeding process for the cooling system is performed using the - Bleed cooling system-function in the PIWIS Tester.
- Always follow the instructions on the Tester.
Information
- There is no need to create a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL).
- Turbo/Turbo S only: Switch on > VAS 231 001 - high-performance fan at setting 2 .
- PIWIS Tester must be connected in the vehicle.
- Switch on ignition and Tester.
- Select the vehicle and then select DME control unit in the control unit search.
- Switch to the Maintenance/repairs menu and select the Bleed cooling system function.
- Observe instructions in the Tester menu: Preconditions must be met!
Information
- The brake pedal must be pressed and the accelerator pedal must be pressed down fully during the entire process.
- The bleeding process takes about 30 minutes; the time is displayed on the Tester.
- The cooling process then starts and takes about 10 minutes; the time is also displayed.
- Bleed the system in accordance with the instructions and steps displayed on the Tester.
- The cooling process is then carried out.
Switch off the air conditioning to help the process and save time. Set heating and ventilation to the highest setting.
- Turbo/Turbo S only: Switch off > VAS 231 001 - high-performance fan .
