Checking The Cooling System For Leaks

Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Check the cooling system for leaks.
Unscrew coolant cap -1- .

Fit adapter K65 -1- on the service tray connection and connect > V.A.G 1274B - Tester for Cooling System-2- .
Create a test pressure of 1.8 bar (absolute) using a pump.
Visually check all hose and line connections for leaks.
Tester WE 1069 with adapter K65
- Carry out the required repair work to seal any leaks you find.
- Release pressure on the tester and screw off adapter.
- Re-fit coolant cap.
