Measuring Rear Brake Disc - Lateral Runout

1. 1.1  Fit > 9510/1 - adapter plate-1-  on the hub of the brake disc -2-  .
2. 1.2  Screw in and tighten wheel bolts -3-  .

   > Tightening torque 160 Nm (118 ftlb.)

   Information 

   The front face of the wheel hub must not be corroded.

   The front face of the wheel hub must be cleaned using a fine emery cloth if necessary.

1. 2.1  Secure ball joint arm -1-  of the > VAS 6079/1 - dial gauge holder for brake discs  at a suitable position on the wheel suspension.
2. 2.2  Fit dial gauge -2-  from > VAS 6079/1 - dial gauge holder for brake discs  and adjust it so that the dial gauge -2-  is touching the outer edge of the brake disc -3-  with slight preload.
3. 2.3  Set dial gauge -2-  from > VAS 6079/1 - dial gauge holder for brake discs  to zero, turn the brake disc -3-  at the > 9510/1 - adapter plate-4-  slowly by one full turn and check the deflection of the dial gauge -2-  .

Measure lateral runout of the wheel hub.
