Measuring Front Brake Disc - Lateral Runout

  1. Fit > 9510/1 - adapter plate-1-  .
    1. 1.1  > 9510/1 - Adapter plate-1-  must be fitted on the hub of the brake disc -3-  .
    2. 1.2  Screw in and tighten wheel bolts -2-  .

      > Tightening torque 160 Nm (118 ftlb.)

      Information 

      The front face of the wheel hub must not be corroded.

      The front face of the wheel hub must be cleaned using a fine emery cloth if necessary.

  2. Measure lateral runout of brake disc -2-  .
    1. 2.1  Secure dial gauge -1-  with ball joint arm from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm  at a suitable position on the wheel suspension.
    2. 2.2  Adjust dial gauge -1-  from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm  so that the dial gauge is touching the outer edge of the brake disc -2-  with slight preload.
    3. 2.3  Set dial gauge -1-  from > Nr.147-1 - dial gauge set with ball joint arm  to zero, turn the brake disc -2- at the > 9510/1 - adapter plate-3-  slowly by one full turn and check the deflection of the dial gauge -1-  .

  3. If the lateral runout of the brake disc is not within the tolerance range:

    Measure lateral runout of the wheel hub.

    Maximum lateral runout of brake disc: > Measured value 0.06 mm
