Checking Fuel Delivery Rate
- Danger of fire or explosion
→ Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
→ Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.
→ Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
→ Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
→ Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
- Danger of material damage and injury
→ Only check fuel pressure and delivery rate when the engine is cold.
Information
- The battery voltage must not fall below 12.5 volts during the delivery rate/pressure check.
- Disconnect supply line -1 and 2-
in engine compartment.
Fuel low-pressure lines in engine compartment
- 1.1 Release and disconnect plug-in coupling -3- .
- 1.2 Catch escaping fuel and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
- Have 9705 - measurement adapter , a fuel-resistant container, a measuring cup and a stopwatch to hand for measuring.
- Connect 9705 - measurement adapter-1-
to the supply line using the quick connector.
Check that the quick connector is fitted securely.
Measurement adapter 9705 (similar to illustration)
- Insert drain hose from the 9705 - measurement adapter
into a fuel-resistant container and secure the container against tipping over.
