Checking Delivery Rate

  • Danger of fire or explosion 

    → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

    → Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

    → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

    → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.

    → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

Information 

  1. Disconnect fuel supply line -2 and 3-  from connection point in engine compartment -1-  .
    1. 1.1 Unclip low-pressure fuel line (rear section) -3-  .
    2. 1.2 Carefully open the locking clip using a small slotted screwdriver and unclip line by pulling it downwards.
    3. 1.3 Carefully pull red fuse -Arrow-  at the plug-in coupling down as far as the locking point using a suitable slotted screwdriver.

      Make sure the plug-in coupling is not damaged while doing this.

    4. 1.4 Disconnect fuel supply line -2 and 3-  .
    5. 1.5 Collect escaping fuel and close off the front section of the fuel supply line using a suitable stopper.

  2. Prepare for the test.

    9705 (measuring adapter shown as an example)

    1. 2.1 Provide a suitable fuel-resistant container and secure to prevent it from falling over.
    2. 2.2 9705 - Connect the measuring adapter-1-  to the quick connector on the rear section of the fuel supply line and check that it is fitted securely.
    3. 2.3 Place drain hose into the container provided.
  3. Check fuel delivery rate.
    1. 3.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester  to the vehicle and switch on the PIWIS Tester  .
    2. 3.2 Switch on the ignition.
    3. 3.3 Start diagnostics.
    4. 3.4 Select DME  control unit.
    5. 3.5 Select the Drive links/checks  tab.
    6. 3.6 Select the Drain tank  menu item and press F12 to continue.
    7. 3.7 Press F8=Start and the stopwatch at the same time to start the drain tank function  .
    8. 3.8 Wait 30 seconds  and then press F8=Start to stop the drain tank function  .
  4. Switch off ignition, switch off the PIWIS Tester  and disconnect adapter line in the vehicle.
  5. Pour the collected fuel into the measuring cup and evaluate.
    1. 5.1 > Volume 2200 cm 3 
  6. > 9705 - Remove measuring adapter  and collect escaping fuel.
  7. Connect fuel supply line -2 and 3-  to connection point in engine compartment -1-  .
    1. 7.1 Connect fuel supply line -2 and 3-  .
    2. 7.2 Carefully lock the locking clip on the plug-in coupling using a small slotted screwdriver.
