Preliminary Work
- Danger of fire or explosion
→ Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
→ Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
→ Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
→ Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
→ Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
- Danger of material damage and injury
→ Only check fuel pressure and delivery rate when the engine is cold.
Information
- The battery voltage must not fall below 12.5 volts during the fuel pressure check.
- Connect a suitable battery charger.
- Connect adjustable charger.
Set charge voltage to 12.5 volts!
- Attach or mount a warning sign -1-
in a clearly visible position on the vehicle.

Information
- The position of the fuse for the fuel pump can be found in the current Porsche After Sales vehicle electrical system documentation (PAB) fuse assignment.

- Relieve fuel pressure in the system.
Pull out fuse for fuel pump.
Note the position!
- Start the engine, wait until it stops and then re-insert the fuse.
- For Cabriolet vehicles:
Move convertible top into service position.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Remove engine-compartment blower cover and engine-compartment blower at the left.
- Remove acoustic simulator line at the left -1-
.
Press locking rings -Arrows- together and pull off the line.

- Open plug-in coupling -1-
for fuel low-pressure connection -2-
in the engine compartment.
Unclip low-pressure fuel line (line to the fuel tank) -3- .
Carefully open the locking clip using a small slotted screwdriver and unclip line by pulling it downwards.
Carefully pull fuse (red) -arrow- at the plug-in coupling down as far as the locking point using a small slotted screwdriver.
CAUTION: Risk of damage!Pull the line apart.
Soak up emerging fuel with a cloth.
Fuel low-pressure line plug-in coupling connection
- Have special tool> 9705 - measurement adapter , a fuel-resistant container, a measuring cup and a stopwatch to hand for measuring the amount of fuel delivered.
- Connect measurement adapter -1-
to the low-pressure fuel line using the quick connector.
Make sure that the plug-in coupling is fitted securely (it must lock with an audible click).

- Insert drain hose into a petrol-resistant container. Secure the container to prevent it from falling over.
