Removing Filler Neck

Information 

Watch out for emerging fuel when disconnecting fuel lines. Place a clean cloth on the connection point, then loosen the connection.

1. Place a warning sign in a clearly visible position in the work area or on the vehicle.

2. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -2-  on the battery bracket -1-  .

   Information 

   Make sure not to damage the electric line.

3. Carefully lift the battery bracket -1-  and turn it around until the electric plug connection is accessible.
4. Disconnect electric plug connection on the fuel pump control unit.

5. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -1-  for the filler neck.

6. Disconnect ground line -1-  .

7. Release tank vent line at the filler neck -arrows A-  and pull it off -arrow B-  .

8. Release line at the fuel tank -arrows A-  and pull it off -arrow B-  .

9. Open clamp for filler neck -arrows A-  .
10. Pull filler neck off the connection at the fuel tank -arrow B-  .
11. Guide out filler neck using a twisting motion.
