Installing Vibration Damper

Information 

• Replace screws for vibration damper. 
• Do not lubricate the screw thread and crankshaft flange thread. 
• Clean the thread on the crankshaft flange to remove grease. 

1. Fit the vibration damper -1-  on the crankshaft flange.

   Check the position of the centering pin.

   Belt drive vib. action damper

2. Place new ccrews -2-  in diagonally opposite sequence.
3. Secure vibration damper -1-  .

   Turn the vibration damper -1-  clockwise using special tool > 9773 - turning device-3-  until one staking bore is flush with the bore in the crankcase.

   Disconnect vibration damper and > 9595/1 - locating pin -4-  .

4. Tighten screws -2-  uniformly to the tightening specification in diagonally opposite sequence.

   Tool recommendation: > 9768 - electronic 2 - 100 nm torque wrench  .

   Initial tightening step 1: > initial tightening 3 Nm 

   Initial tightening step 2: > initial tightening 8 Nm 

   Final tightening torque angle: > Torque angle 90°
