Removing Crankcase Half For Cylinders 1 -3

WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components

Risk of eye injuries
Risk of bruising
→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling off suddenly.

Remove vibration damper.
> Removing and installing vibration damper
Remove crankcase half for cylinders 1 to 3.
Unscrew outer screws -15 to 33- .

Unscrew through bolts -1 to 14- .

Tightening sequence for crankcase

> 9590 - Mounting parts must be unscrewed from threaded joint for crankcase half for cylinders 1 to 3.

1001IN TOOLS FOR REMOVING UNITS AND WORKING ON THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY SUPPORT
Remove crankcase half for cylinders 1 to 3.
Put on heat protection gloves and heat the sealant at the joint using > VAS 1978/14A- Hot-Air Blower .

Lift crankcase half 1-3 at the marked positions -Arrows - using a suitable tool.

Lever positions on crankcase

Push the handle of a hammer -2- in above the oil-pump pressure channels and lift off crankcase half 1-3 -1- .
