Removing Centre Coolant Pipe

Information 

The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.

1. Only for all-wheel drive vehicles: 

   Support the front axle final drive with an > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack  .

2. Only for all-wheel drive vehicles: 

   Remove the mounting plate for -1-  rear cardan shaft mounting.

   Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .

   Unscrew nut -3-  and counter at screw -4-  at the same time.

   Remove the mounting plate for rear cardan shaft mounting -1-  .

3. Remove the -1-  tunnel reinforcement.

   Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .

   Unclip the holder for -3-  coolant pipes and remove the tunnel -1-  reinforcement.

4. Remove the strut for the -1-  front coolant pipe holder.

   Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .

   Unclip the clips -3-  and remove the -1-  front coolant pipe holder strut.

5. Remove holder for the coolant pipes -1-  .

   Release and open holder -1-  for coolant pipes.

   Unclip the vent line -3-  and centre coolant pipes -2-  .

   Remove holder for coolant pipes -1-  .

6. Centre coolant pipe, left only: 

   Disconnect the vent line -2-  from the centre coolant pipe -1-  .

   Unclip vent line -2-  from clips -3-  .

7. Removing the -1-  centre coolant pipe.

   Unlock spring clamps -4-  and detach the centre coolant pipe -1-  from the front -2-  and rear coolant pipe -3-  .

   Collect emerging coolant.

   Remove the centre coolant pipe -1-  .
