Installing Centre Coolant Pipe

Information

The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.

Install centre -1- coolant pipe.
Position the centre -1- coolant pipe.

Press the centre coolant pipe -1- onto the front coolant pipe -2- and rear coolant pipe -3- and lock the retaining clips -4- .

Centre coolant pipe
Centre coolant pipe, left only:
Secure -2- vent line on centre coolant pipe, -1- left.

Insert -2- vent line -3- into clips.

Vent line
Install -1- coolant pipe holder.
Position holder for coolant pipes -1- .

Clip in vent line -3- and centre -2- coolant pipes.

Close and lock the -1- coolant pipe holder.

Centre holder for coolant pipes
Install strut for holder -1- for front coolant pipes.
Position front strut of the coolant pipe holder and -1- clip in the -3- clips.

Fit and tighten screws -2- .

> Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)

Strut for front coolant pipe holder.
Install -1- tunnel reinforcement.
Position tunnel reinforcement -1- and press on -3- coolant pipe holder.

Fit and tighten screws -2- .

> Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ftlb.)

Tunnel reinforcement
Only for all-wheel drive vehicles:
Install mounting plate for rear -1- cardan shaft mounting.

Position mounting plate for rear -1- cardan shaft mounting.

Fit and tighten new screws -2- .

> Initial tightening 40 Nm (30 ftlb.)

> Torque angle 45°

Insert screw -4- , fit and tighten nut -3- and counter at the screw -4- at the same time.

> Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 ftlb.) +/- 4 Nm (3 ftlb.)
