Cleaning Cooling Air Intakes
NOTE:
Radiator surface (vanes) dirty/soiled
- Engine overheating due to lack of cooling performance
- Risk of damage to radiator surface
→ Clean radiator surface regularly.
→ Do not use a high-pressure steam cleaner.
Information
Never use a high-pressure steam cleaner!
High-pressure steam cleaners can cause additional particles of dirt to attach to the radiator surfaces and the engine can overheat due to reduced cooling performance.
- Check the cooling air ducts and radiator for external contamination, e.g. leaves.
If necessary, clean the cooling air ducts and radiator surfaces through the openings in the front end using a vacuum cleaner and nozzle. > VAS 6929 - Vacuum-cleaner nozzle should be used.
