Checking Function Of Reservoir Cap

Information 

The lid has a two-stage design and as a result, two test steps are required.

1. Screw on coolant cap -1-  with adapter 65 -2-  .
2. Connect adapter 65 -2-  to > V.A.G 1274B - Tester for Cooling Svstem-3-  and hose adapter FZ 100K.

   Test step for stage 1: 

3. Build up overpressure.

   The first stage opens at an overpressure of approx. 1.3 bar. The pressure then drops slowly and the valve closes at 1.0 bar. If the pressure drops further, replace the cap.

   Test step for stage 2 if the minimum pressure in stage 1 is maintained: 

4. Apply overpressure to the valve in step 1 by pumping rapidly. The valve in step 2 must open at an overpressure of approx 1.8 bar.

   If the valve does not open, replace the cap.
