Loosening Main Wire Harness In Luggage Compartment At The Left

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness

Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Information

Damaged or deformed body parts can impair torsional rigidity, flexional resistance and crash safety. Body parts can no longer be reshaped. Straightening and reshaping is not permitted. If a body part is damaged or deformed, it must be replaced.

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work.
Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation.
Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts.

Unscrew fastening nuts -1- and remove the crash element in the front of the boot floor -2- .

Main wiring harness in outer left of the boot:
1. 2.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection for radar sensor ACC -1- .
2. 2.2 Release electric plug connection for contact switch cover -2- and remove it.
3. 2.3 Release and unplug electric plug connection -3- .
4. 2.4 Pull the rubber sleeve -4- on the main wire harness on the inside left of the boot inwards -arrow- .

3.1 Disconnect line.

Ground line

3.1.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 and 2- on the amplifier.
3.1.2 Unscrew fastening nuts -3- and remove ground lines -4- .
3.1.3 Loosen fixing clips -5- .

3.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connections.

Electric plug connections

3.2.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection on the camera systems -1- .
3.2.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connections on the night/night vision camera -2 and 3- .
3.2.3 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -4- on the mobile phone amplifier.

3.3 Undo fixing clips -1- and -2- pull the foam sleeve on the line inwards to the plenum panel -arrow- .
