Removing Rear Cross Member

Information

• The illustrations for the procedure show only one side of the vehicle.
• All steps must also be completed on the opposite side of the vehicle.
• These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Unscrew self-tapping screws -1-  .

2. Cut welded seam.

3. Heat the marked bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .

4. Remove rear cross member -1-  by pulling it to the rear at the bottom. The closing plate -2-  must be pressed outwards -Arrow-  .
