Installing Seat-Well Cross Member (Coupe)
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface of the body. > Application depth 0.5 mm

Bonding areas
- Apply adhesive on the marked area -A-

- 2.1 Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. > Application depth 0.5 mm
- 2.2
Also apply an adhesive bead of sealant all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm

Bonding areas
- Install middle section of seat-well cross member (Coupe) and check that it fits perfectly.
- Push repair sleeve -1-
into middle section of se at-well cross member (Coupt) -2-
and mark the centre.
Repair sleeve
- Push repair sleeve -1-
into middle section of seat-well cross member (Coupe) -arrow-
.
Repair sleeve
- Insert side section of seat-well cross member (Coupe) -1-
and push repair sleeve -2-
forward as far as the marking using a screwdriver -arrow-
.
Repair sleeve
- Tighten self-tapping screws
> 5X00IN24 SETTING SELF-TAPPING SCREWS
Self-tapping screws
- Tighten screws -2-
to > Tightening torque 30 (22 ft.lb) Nm
Self-tapping screws
- Plug-weld repair sleeve -1-
all the way around.
Repair sleeve
- Apply a full weld to the middle section of the seat-well cross member (Coupe) at the side section of the seat-well cross member (Coupe) all the way around using inert gas.
Seat-well cross member (Coupe)
- Tighten screws -1-
to > Tightening torque 40 (30 ft.lb) Nm
.
Connecting piece
- Tighten screws -2-
to > Tightening torque 25 (19 ft.lb) Nm
