Preparing Rear Cover Plate (Coupe) For Installation

  1. Remove corner plates on both sides.
    1. 1.1  Drill out penetrated joints.

  2. Heat bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .

  3. Remove corner plates.
  4. Fit rear cover plate (Coupe) and secure it to the body.
  5. Drill bore holes for countersunk blind rivets -A-  through both sheetmetal panels.

    > Diameter 4  , 1 mm 

    1. 5.1  Counterbore the rivet holes with > VAS 6957 - 100° countersink  .

  6. Drill bore holes for blind rivets -B - through both sheetmetal panels.

    > Diameter 6, 6 mm

  7. Remove rear cover plate (Coupe).
  8. Prepare marked areas for bonding and riveting.
