- 4.1 Remove punch rivets -LHD vehicle - using > VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit and > VAS 6790 - compact booster .
- 4.2 Drill out punch rivets -RHD vehicle - using > Diameter 6.5 mm .
- Remove punch rivets using > VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit
and > VAS 6790 - compact booster

- Remove friction element welded joints.

Friction element welds
- 6.1 Grind off friction element welds - LHD vehicle - .
- 6.2 Drill out friction element welds -RHD vehicle - from the outside using > Diameter 6.5 mm .
- Cut welded seams and remove attachment -1-

- Heat bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower

- Remove chamber profiles in the marked area with rough cuts to expose adhesive areas.

- Break off the self-tapping screws

Adhesive areas (after rough cuts)
- Remove side member reinforcement.
- Remove the remaining pieces of the self-tapping screws from the interior of the side member reinforcement area.
