Installing B-Pillar Reinforcement

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand althe work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Apply adhesive evenly over the marked bonding surface -A-  and -B-  of the body. > Application depth 0.5 mm

2. Apply adhesive evenly over the marked bonding surface -A-  of the body. > Application depth 0.5 mm

3. Apply adhesive evenly on the B-pillar reinforcement in areas -A-  and -B-  .

   > Application depth 0.5 mm 

   Also apply an adhesive bead of sealant all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm

4. Fit in B-pillar reinforcement and secure it to the body.
5. Rivet in B-pillar reinforcement.

6. Screw in and tighten self-tapping screws.

7. Resistance spot-weld B-pillar reinforcement.

8. Apply a full steel weld to the B-pillar reinforcement in the marked area

9. Make ground connection by applying a full aluminium weld.
