- Unscrew self-tapping screws -1-

- Drill out friction element welded joints.

- Remove punch rivets using > VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit
and > VAS 6790 - compact booster
and unscrew self-tapping screw -1-

- Remove punch rivets using > VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit
and > VAS 6790 - compact booster

Punch rivets and resistance spotwelds
LHD vehicle Remove punch rivets using > VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit and > VAS 6790 - compact booster .

RHD vehicle Drill out resistance spotwelds.
- Heat bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower

Bonding areas
- Remove closing element.
- Heat bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower
.
Bonding areas
- Remove chamber profiles in the marked area with rough cuts to expose adhesive areas.
Rough cuts
- Knock out self-tapping screws -1-
.
Self-tapping screws
- Heat the marked bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower
.
Adhesive areas (after rough cuts)
- Remove remaining pieces of side member reinforcement (Coupe) downwards.
