Removing Outer Side Member (Coupe)

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information 

Mark cuts A in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 30 mm with respect to the body.

1. Mark cut on rear outer side member (Coupe) at -dimension A-  > Distance 100 mm  and cut it.

2. Mark cut on front outer side member (Coupe) at -dimension A-  > Distance 10 mm  and cut it.

3. Drill out spotwelds.

4. Remove punch rivets in area -A-  using > VAS 852 001 - Body Dent Removal System, Aluminium  and > VAS 6790 - Compact Booster  .

5. Drill out penetrated joints in area -B-  with > Diameter 4 mm  .

6. Bend up sheetmetal brackets using > VAS 6635/5 - Crimping pliers  .

7. Heat bonding area using > V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  .
