Installing Outer Side Member (Coupe)

- Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface.
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Tack on sheetmetal insert used as a welding backing strip on the body.
Sheetmetal insert
- Apply adhesive evenly in the marked area -A-
on the joint area of the body > Application depth 0.5 mm

Bonding area
- Apply adhesive on outer side member (Coupe) in area -A-
> Application depth 0.5 mm .

Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface

Bonding areas

Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface
- Install outer side member (Coupe) and check that it fits perfectly.
Check gap dimensions.
- Rivet in outer lower side member (Coupe) in areas A, B and C.
Punch rivets
A Set blind rivets. > BLIND RIVET 999.190.229.01 B Fit countersunk rivets. > BLIND RIVET PAF.912.885 C Fit countersunk rivets. > BLIND RIVET 999.190.228.01 - Resistance spot-weld outer side member (Coupe).
Spotwelds
- Fold over tab using > VAS 6635/5 - Crimping pliers

Tab
- Apply a full weld to the outer side member (Coupe) in area -A-
using inert gas.
Outer lower side member (Coupe)
- Apply a full aluminium weld to the outer side member (Coupe) in area -B-
