Installing (inner) B-pillar reinforcement

  1. Apply adhesive on joint areas of the body.

    Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. > Application depth 0.5 mm

    Applying adhesive

  2. Apply adhesive on joint areas of the body.

    Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. > Application depth 0.5 mm

  3. Apply adhesive on the (inner) B-pillar reinforcement in area -A_-  .

    Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. > Application depth 0.5 mm 

    Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm

  4. Rivet in (inner) B-pillar reinforcement in the roof frame area.

    Blind rivets

    A > BLIND RIVET 999.190.228.01 
    B > BLIND RIVET 999.190.229.01 
  5. Apply a full steel weld to the (inner) B-pillar reinforcement.

  6. Press flow-form welding rivet using > VAS 6790 - compact booster  .

    > 5X00IN29 REPLACING FRICTION ELEMENT WELDED JOINT

    Friction weld elements

  7. Tighten screw -1-  to > Tightening torque 4 (3 ft.lb) Nm  .
