Installing Roof (Rear Panel)

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following conditions must be adhered to:

The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
Curing time: 2 hours
Temperature: at least 10 °C
Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

Prepare 2-component adhesive for processing.

Prepare roof (rear panel)

Roof (rear panel)
1. 2.1 Clean the inside of the roof (rear panel) -1- extensively along the marking -2- with cleaning solution.
2. 2.2 Apply primer along the marking 2- .

Body, rear

Information
- The surface coating of adhesive residue helps new adhesive to stick. Keep cut surfaces clean and free of grease and do not clean with cleaning solution.
1. 3.1 When removing adhesive residue -1- from the body using the > V.A.G 1561B - electric cutter or > VAS 861 005 - scraper set , ensure that a surface coating of adhesive residue remains.
2. 3.2 If the paintwork is damaged, see

Apply a bead of adhesive on the specified contour

Rear bonding area

A > Length 30 mm
1. 4.1 Do not apply adhesive in area -A - .
Apply a triangular bead of adhesive measuring -X = approx. 15 mm- .

Adhesive bead (shown as an example)
Fit rear roof panel and position it.

and secure with adhesive tape.
