Removing Front Pneumatic Spring
Installation position
CAUTION:
Incorrect handling of gas-filled shock absorbers
- Gas-filled shock absorbers can burst
- Risk of eye injuries
- Risk of bruising
→ Gas-filled shock absorbers must be in idle state before removal.
→ Open the lid.
→ Secure the lid to prevent it from closing accidentally following removal of the gas-filled shock absorbers.
→ Do not use force to open the gas-filled shock absorbers because of their high internal pressure.

The help of a second person is required for the following steps.

The safety clip loses its preload if removed.
- Opening the front lid
- Pull pneumatic spring at the lid side off the ball joint.
Pneumatic spring for lid
- 2.1 Guide a screwdriver in between the pneumatic spring -1- at the top and the safety clip -2- .
- 2.2 Loosen the safety clip -2- by levering the screwdriver -arrow A- (-arrow B- ) in such a way that the safety clip remains in the head of the pneumatic spring.
- 2.3 Pull pneumatic spring off the ball joint.
- Pull pneumatic spring on the body side off the ball joint.
Pneumatic spring head on body
- 3.1 Guide a screwdriver in between the pneumatic spring -1- at the bottom and the safety clip -2- .
- 3.2 Loosen the safety clip -2- by levering the screwdriver -arrow A- (-arrow B- ) in such a way that the safety clip remains in the head of the pneumatic spring.
- 3.3 Pull pneumatic spring off the ball joint.
