Replacing Control Unit For Lane Change Assist

Information 

If a Lane Change Assist control unit is replaced  , both  control units (left and right) must always be replaced.

The Lane Change Assist control unit must always be replaced in the bundle (left and right).

Information 

The instructions in the Tester  take precedence, since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in the Tester  .

1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
2. Place original remote control (hand-held transmitter) in emergency start tray.

3. Select the vehicle type if necessary.
4. In the overview  , press F7 to switch to the Additional menu  . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
5. Select Commission component protection  . Press F12 to continue.
   1. 5.1 Follow instructions and procedure.
   2. 5.2 Teach component protection according to menu guidance.
   3. 5.3 The Tester displays the message: Component protection taught.
6. Go back to the overview.
7. Select the Lane Change Assist, right (master)  control unit in the overview  . Press F12 to continue.
8. Select Coding/programming  .
9. Select Automatic coding  . Press F12 to continue.
   1. 9.1 The Tester displays the message: Coding was completed successfully.
10. Teach combination sensor.
    1. 10.1 Select the Airbag  control unit in the overview  .
    2. 10.2 Select Maintenance/repairs  .
    3. 10.3 Select Calibrate combination sensor  . Press F12 to continue.
    4. 10.4 Read and follow the warnings and instructions on the Tester.
11. Read out the fault memory  , correct faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memory.
12. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
