Calibrating Reversing Camera

NOTE: Voltage drop
  • Irreparable damage to control unit 
  • Damage to control unit 
  • Fault entries in the control unit 
  • Control unit programming/coding is aborted 
  • Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming/coding 

    → Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.

    → Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.

    → Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A  to the vehicle battery.

Information 

The instructions in the Tester  take precedence, since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in the Tester  .

  1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  2. Place original remote control (hand-held transmitter) in emergency start tray.

  3. Select the vehicle type if required.
  4. Select the Chassis control (PASM)  control unit in the overview  . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
  5. Fault memory  must now be selected.
    1. 5.1 Read out fault memory and erase it if necessary.
  6. Select the Reversing camera  control unit in the overview  . Press F12 to continue.
  7. Coding/programming  must be selected.
  8. Automatic coding  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
    1. 8.1 The Tester displays the message: Coding completed successfully.
  9. Maintenance/repairs  must now be selected.
  10. Calibrate reversing camera  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
    1. 10.1 Read the warnings and instructions displayed on the Tester. Perform calibration according to menu guidance. Press F12 to continue.
    2. 10.2 The Tester displays the message: Calibration completed successfully.
  11. Read out the fault memory  , correct faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memory.
  12. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
