Preliminary Work

  1. Loosen battery ground strap.

    978509 LOOSENING AND SECURING GROUND STRAP FOR BATTERY

  2. Remove interior rear-view mirror trim.

    682719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTERIOR REAR-VIEW MIRROR

  3. Only for Coupe: 

    Remove headliner.

    >  WM, 708419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ROOF TRIM PANEL 

  4. Remove A-pillar trim panel at the right.

    >  WM, 70571901 REMOVING AND INSTALLING A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL (UPPER PART) 

  5. Only for Cabriolet/Targa: 

    Remove front roof trim panel (center).

    >  WM, 708319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT ROOF CONSOLE 

    Remove front roof trim panel (at the sides) at the right.

    >  WM, 708319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT ROOF CONSOLE 

    Remove A-pillar trim panel (upper part).

    >  WM, 70571901 REMOVING AND INSTALLING A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL (UPPER PART) 

  6. Remove front side-section trim panel at the right.

    >  WM, 702419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SIDE-SECTION TRIM PANEL 

  7. Remove center console (lower part).

    68171905 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CENTRE CONSOLE (LOWER PART)

  8. Remove central computer.

    > 915219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CENTRAL COMPUTER
