Replacing Gateway Control Unit
- Irreparable damage to control unit
- Damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Control unit programming/coding is aborted
- Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming
- Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
- Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
- Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
If the Gateway control unit is programmed, ensure a charging voltage of 14.0 - 14.2 V at the Gateway control unit. Adjust the charger's voltage if necessary. When programming is complete, reset the charger's voltage.

If the gateway control unit is replaced, the communication control unit must also be replaced.

- Connect Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Place original remote control in emergency start tray.

- Select the vehicle type if necessary.
- In the Overview
, press F7 to select the Additional menu
. Press F12 to continue.
The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Select the Commission component protection

- Select Enabling functions

- 6.4 Tester displays the message: Restore process completed successfully
- Switch back to the Overview menu.
- Select the Gateway control unit in the Overview. Press F12 to continue.
- Select Coding/programming .
- Select Automatic coding
. Press F12 to continue.

- Select Maintenance/repairs .
- Battery replacement
must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- 12.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
- 12.2 Teach battery according to menu guidance.
- Teach combination sensor.
- 13.1 Select the Airbag control unit in the Overview . Press F12 to continue.
- 13.2 Select Maintenance/repairs .
- 13.3 Calibrate combination sensor must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- 13.4 Read and follow the warnings and instructions on the Tester.
Vehicles with emergency call function: continue with Step 14.
Vehicles without emergency call function: continue with Step 18.
- Check whether emergency call button LED lights up in the roof console.
- 14.1 Emergency call button LED lights up green: Continue with Step 18.
- 14.2 Emergency call button LED lights up red: Continue with Step 15.
- Select the Connect control unit in the Overview. Press F12 to continue.
- Select Drive links checks .
- Connection set-up
must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- 17.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
- 17.2 Establish connection according to menu guidance.
- 17.3 Emergency call button LED lights up green.
- 17.4 If the connection setup fails (emergency call button LED remains red): Create a ticket in the PCSS.
- Read out all fault memories , process and delete existing faults if necessary.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect Tester from the vehicle.
