Information
The exact position of the front camera with respect to the geometric driving axis angle is adapted by calibrating the front camera.
- The > VAS 6430/1A - Setting Device with Reflector, > VAS 6430/4 - Lane Departure Warning Calibration Plate, > VAS 6350A - Calibration unit and a wheel alignment computer are required for the calibration process.
- Before calibrating the front camera, a basic initial measurement must be performed.
Park the vehicle on a levelled wheel alignment platform or on a level surface and set up the calibration unit > VAS 6430/1A - Setting Device with Reflector, > VAS 6350/2A - Spacing laser and VAS 6350 wheel centre mountings in front of the vehicle in accordance with the instructions on the wheel alignment computer and PIWIS Tester.
The front camera must be re-calibrated in the following situations:
- When replacing the front camera
- When removing and installing or replacing the windscreen
- When chassis settings are adjusted
