Customer Instruction

If the customer has difficulty synchronizing the rolling code, present these instructions:

During Homelink programming (while in front of your garage door), you may receive the message in figure 1. This indicates your garage door uses a rolling code. If you have difficulty synchronizing to this rolling code, try the following steps.

  1. When you receive message in figure 2, press "Yes," even though the garage door did not move. This cancels the PCM's synchronization routine and allows the user to synchronize Homelink manually.
  2. To synchronize manually, use the typical Homelink activation button on the PCM. Press this button repeatedly until the garage door moves. This should not take more than a minute or so. Then stop pressing the button.
  3. Your Homelink is now synchronized to the garage door's rolling code.
