Replacing PDK Transmission Control Unit

WARNING:
The vehicle can move automatically while you are calibrating the transmission control unit (PDK).
- The raised vehicle can fall from the lifting platform.
- Danger of crushing.
- Risk of damage to or from objects.
- forward During calibration, the brake pedal must be blocked using a commercially available brake pedal lock.
- forward The parking brake must be engaged.
- forward The vehicle must not be raised and must be standing on its wheels.

- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
- forward Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- forward Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
- forward Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A to the vehicle battery.

When the PDK control unit is programmed, the instrument cluster is also programmed and coded automatically in addition to the DME control unit.
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Select the Transmission electronics (PDK) control unit in the overview. Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Coding/programming must be selected.
- Automatic programming
must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- 4.1 The Tester displays the message: Programming was completed successfully.
- Automatic coding
must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- 5.1 The Tester displays the message: Coding was completed successfully.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Switch off ignition, wait 2 seconds and then switch ignition back on again.
- Select the required Transmission electronics (PDK) control unit in the overview.
- Maintenance/repairs must now be selected.
- Select Calibration (complete process). Press F12 to continue.
- Select the required calibration.
Press F12 to continue.
- 11.1 Observe warnings, test prerequisites and instructions on the Tester.
- 11.2 Perform calibration according to menu guidance.
- 11.3 The Tester displays the message: Calibration completed successfully.
- Read out the fault memory, correct faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memory.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
