Installing Sealing Ring On Right Halfshaft Flange

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Thinly coat sealing lip and outer circumference of sealing ring with Vaseline and place the sealing ring on > 9738 - pressure piece-1-  .
  2. Install sealing ring into the transmission using > 9738 - pressure piece-1-  .

  3. Fit new circlip -3-  on the halfshaft flange -1-  .
    1. 3.1 Clamp the halfshaft flange -1-  in a vice using a screw -2-  .
    2. 3.2 Press out the old circlip using the new circlip -3-  .

  4. Check halfshaft flange -1-  on the transmission end of the shaft -arrow-  for burrs and sharp edges and de-burr if necessary.

    Information 

    Be careful of the sealing ring during installation and do not damage it. If the sealing ring is damaged during installation, it must be replaced again.

  5. Position halfshaft flange on the transmission and install it.
  6. Carefully clean transmission housing and adjacent components.
