Replacing Brake Fluid

Information 

  1. Unscrew cap -2-  on brake fluid reservoir -1-  .
  2. Connect bleeding device to the brake fluid reservoir -1-  and switch it on. > Pressure 2 bar

    Information 

    • There are two bleeder valves on the brake calliper. Brake fluid must be drained at both bleeder valves. Always bleed the outer bleeder valve first. 
    • Use a transparent hose and a collecting bottle to check the escaping brake fluid for cleanliness, absence of air bubbles and to determine the amount of brake fluid used.

    There is no specified sequence for replacing brake callipers/bleeding brake fluid

  3. Change the brake fluid
    1. 3.1  Connect a collecting bottle with a transparent hose to the relevant bleeder valve.
    2. 3.2  Open the relevant bleeder valve and drain  > Filling capacity 0.125 Liter  per bleeder valve, i.e. > Filling capacity 0.25 Liter per wheel. 
    3. 3.3  Close the bleeder valve and repeat the process for the next bleeder valve. > Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.3 ftlb). 
  4. Switch off the bleeding device and disconnect it from the brake fluid reservoir -1-  .

    Information 

    The brake fluid level must be between the MIN and MAX markings.

  5. Visually inspect the brake fluid level and correct it if necessary.
  6. Screw on cap -2-  on brake fluid reservoir -1-  .
