If the hydraulic unit is replaced, the PSM control unit must be calibrated using > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II (calibration of hydraulic unit/control unit with combination sensor). If calibration is not performed, the PSM control unit will have no values or incorrect values.

Calibrate the rotation-rate sensor (combination sensor) using > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II

- 2.2.1 Call up the > Maintenance/repairs menu.
- 2.2.2 Call up the > Sensor cluster calibration (combination sensor) submenu.
- 2.2.3 Follow the other menu prompts for calibrating the rotation-rate sensor (combination sensor).

- Carry out Hydraulic swap test using > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II

- 3.1 Call up the > Control unit overview menu.
- 3.2 Call up the > PSM submenu.
- 3.3 Call up the > Maintenance/repairs submenu.
- 3.4 Call up the > Hydraulic swap test submenu.
- 3.5 Follow the other menu prompts for carrying out the hydraulic swap test.
- Install alarm siren.
- Install front section of front wheel housing liner at the left.
- Carry out a function test on the brake system.

Brake at least once in the ABS control range while test-driving the vehicle on a horizontal road surface.
Drive according to road conditions.

The HOLD function is not active for inclines greater than 5% if the rotation-rate sensor (combination sensor) was not calibrated or was calibrated incorrectly
- 6.2 On vehicles with PDK transmission: Also check the HOLD function.
- 6.3 Read out the fault memory using > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II .
- 6.4 Correct any faults that were read out using > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II .
- 6.5 Repeat Steps 7.1. to 7.4. until all faults are corrected.
