Installing Steering Column (Centre]
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Insert steering column center -1- into the vehicle through the passenger compartment.
- Slide the steering column center -1-
onto the intermediate steering shaft -2-
from above as far as it will go -arrow- 1)
.
1) The splines ensure that the intermediate steering shaft can only be fitted at a certain position
Installing steering column (center)
- Plug in combination connector and electric plug connection for steering column.
- 3.1
Plug in combination connector -1-
at the mounting bracket holder.
Connecting combination connector
- 3.2 Plug in electric plug connection -2- on the steering column until it engages securely.
- 3.3
Plug in combination connector -4-
and lock it -arrow b-

Information
- Observe tightening sequence and tightening torques for steering column on mounting bracket.
- Calibrate the steering-angle sensor using > 9818-PIWIS Tester II
.

- Replace screws and nuts.
- Visually inspect all parts.
- 3.1
Plug in combination connector -1-
at the mounting bracket holder.
- Secure the steering column -1-
.
- 4.1 Guide the steering column -1- into the mounting bracket.
- 4.2
Screw in and tighten nuts -2-
for the steering column -1-
from below. > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
Screwing on nuts
- 4.3
Screw in screw -2-
on the steering column -4-
and screw on nut -3-
Counter at the nut and tighten screw. > Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ftlb.)

- Fit the tie-wrap -2-
at the steering column -1-
