Battery Load Test
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Information
- A battery tester is required for the load test.
- Do not remove or disconnect the battery.
- Charge the battery before starting the load test.
Carrying out battery load test:
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Read and follow the information provided in the operating instructions for the battery tester.
- Connect the clamps of the test lines to the battery terminals as described in the operating instructions for the battery tester.
Set the Load current according to the battery capacity (operating instructions for battery tester).
- Perform battery load test in accordance with the operating instructions.
Compare the result of the battery load test with the specified minimum voltage (limit value).
BATTERY LOAD TEST SPECIFICATIONBattery capacity: 80 Ah Cold test current 380 A Load current 300 A Minimum voltage (limit value) 9.5 V - If the minimum voltage is not reached, replace the battery.
Remarks on battery load test:
The battery voltage drops during this test due to the high load on the battery.
If the battery is OK, the voltage value will fall only to the minimum voltage.
If the battery is faulty, the battery voltage will drop very quickly to below the specified minimum voltage.
After the test, the voltage value will remain low for a long time; the voltage increases again slowly.
