Checking Fuel Pump Delivery Rate

- Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
Information
- The battery voltage must not fall below 12.5 volts during the delivery rate/pressure check.
- > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3
must be connected to the vehicle.
Information
- There is no need to create a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL).
- Select DME in the control unit search screen.
- Switch to the Drive links/checks menu item.
- Select the Drain fuel tank function.
- Have a stopwatch ready for the next step.
- Activate the Drain fuel tank (= activate fuel pump) function by pressing F8 - Start and start the stopwatch at the same time. Collect emerging fuel in a container you have to hand.
- Deactivate the function after 60 seconds by pressing F8 - Stop.
- Exit the function.
- Pour the collected fuel into the measuring cup and compare the quantity with the vehicle-specific values listed below.
This gives the minimum pump rate.
> Volume 2.80 l/min
- Switch off ignition, switch off > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3 and disconnect adapter line in the vehicle.
- Fit cover for fuse carrier.
