Installing One Rear Silencer

Information 

• The seals and lock nuts must always be replaced when removing and installing the silencer. 

1. Position rear silencer in installation position.
2. Position clamp -2  - in installation position and tighten screw -1  - only slightly.

3. Slide clamping sleeve onto the rear silencer.
4. Attach rear silencer to the two-hole flange.
   1. 4.1 Position new seal on the two-hole flange.
   2. 4.2 Fit new nuts on the two-hole flange and tighten to > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)  .

5. Only for vehicles with exhaust flaps: 

   Connect vacuum hose -3  - for exhaust flap.

   1. 5.1 Attach vacuum hose -3  - to the control box -5  -.
   2. 5.2 Fasten clamp -4  -.

6. Tighten screw -1  - on clamp -2  - to > Tightening torque 15 Nm (11.1 ftlb.)  .

7. Tighten clamping sleeve.
   1. 7.1 Tightening torque: > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.) 
8. Secure tailpipe cover.
